Artists Toby Lloyd & Andrew Wilson have collaborated since 2012 and their work has often borrowed heavily from the public house model. On Thursday 26th May (Miles Davis’s Birthday) they will launch two projects that celebrate the public house and its unique conventions, habits and customs. Part one will be an exhibition and cassette/publication launch at BasementArtsProject. Part two will be the launch of a public house installation at Artist House 45 where Lloyd & Wilson are currently undertaking a live/work residency hosted by East St. Arts.

Exhibition, Cassette & Publication Launch | BasementArtsProject
The Pub & The People is a new body of work which playfully presents a cross section of popular culture references to present many diverse interpretations of the Public House and it’s social and cultural history.

Public House Installation | Artist House 45
Lloyd & Wilson have recently transformed the kitchen of their home by adopting the furniture of the public house to host spontaneous and informal events and discussions. Join them for the opening night and sample a glass or two of two new home brews made especially for the launch.

Both The Pub & the People publication and C55 Cassette tape will be available to purchase at a special launch price from both venues on the 26th May launch event.
