  • Ruby Jean Waterhouse is a recent graduate of the Slade School of Fine Art. With the first year of her BFA frustrated by the emergence of Covid-19 she was sent home to Leeds to study. The solitude of lockdown walks in the Yorkshire landscape provided her with the impetus for the direction that she would take in her final year.

Fray, curated and with contributions by Waterhouse, is an exhibition created to enable us to unravel the truth. Time breaks down memories and stories forming a withered history. Breakdowns give us a chance to form something new. To be rebirthed.

Exploring tactility of materials and textiles, Fray looks at fabrication through substances and weathered matter to invent a familiar space of recent work from artists.
