Come and join us . . .
On Sunday 30th October come and join BasementArtsProject as we mark the changing of the seasons with an afternoon of art, music and poetry.
‘Have You Left Yet?’ The latest exhibition by Slit will be open for the final time 3-5pm. If you have not managed to catch it yet this will be your last opportunity. As the exhibition closes its doors at 5pm we will be decamping outside (weather dependent) to Jacob’s Ladder - the new sculpture by artist Keith Ackerman situated on the grass opposite BasementArtsProject for a selection of music and poetry by members of the collective.
After this, the clocks go back and we are returned to winter's long decline, so come and enjoy the last moments of summer with us before the nights draw in.

‘Have You Left Yet’ is a collaborative exhibition of new works by Daniel Adkins, Julia Dudycz, Georgie Holt, Clarke Lear, Jonny Winter and you, the audience. Using a mixture of poetry, music, painting, photography and film you are invited to attend this exhibition and contribute to their offering.
The exhibition explores the need for control and the desire for autonomy within groups, and how this affects our interpersonal relationships. Creating a cramped yet homely exhibition space, Slit invites you to be a part of their conversation.
The participants in this exhibition have all gone through their university years and graduated from Leeds Arts University during the pandemic lockdown. This is a moment for them to bring their ideas together, and to work in collaboration with each other after two years of enforced isolation.
There will be an event on the closing night of the exhibition featuring music and poetry from the group.
