Greater Than The Sum Of Our Parts

BasementArtsProject is an organisation which focuses on those engaged in any form of artistic practice. We aim to provide resources, space, opportunity and community for all artists and those that engage with the arts. Through this we aim to create an ideologically neutral space for the appreciation of artworks across many forms with a focus and quality and accessibility. We seek to do this without prejudice or bias.

BasementArtsProject understands the contribution to society that is possible by those from disadvantaged backgrounds and we will always seek to ensure that they are included and their voices heard.

BasementArtsProject recognises class as a barrier to participation and engagement with the arts. We seek to represent the voices of those artists from disadvantaged backgrounds whilst also addressing potential audiences of those who would not normally engage with the arts.

BasementArtsProject works with undergraduates, recent graduates, early / mid-career and established artists. We believe in the possibilities that arise from the combination of age and experience, youth and energy.

The age range range of artists thus far at at BasementArtsProject has ranged from 10-61. Many of our projects are intergenerational and involve artists from across this age range.
