A group exhibition on the mutation of matter and ruptured roots
‘Ethereal Matter’ is a group exhibition by students of MA Fine Art at Leeds Beckett University looking at the mutation of matter and ruptured roots.
BasementArtsProject is a grassroots organisation based in South Leeds and run by Leeds Metropolitan (now Beckett) University Alumni (2000-2003) Bruce Davies.
Whilst seeking to embed contemporary art in the fabric of our South Leeds community we also have a history of supporting under-graduates, post-graduates, staff and early career artists from all of Leeds’ further education institutions.
This exhibition is not only a presentation of the student’s ideas being developed as part of their MA studies, but also a fund raising opportunity for BasementArtsProject. Alongside the show there will be a series of editions offered for sale.
On the evening of Wednesday 17th December we will be having our, now traditional, Christmas Closedown with Mulled Wine and Mince Pies and this year music by Skye de Bruycker and readings from a new publication by artist Nicholas Vaughan.
Then on Thursday 18th December BasementArtsProject and the students of the MA Fine Art course will be selling Artworks and Editions from a stall at Kirkgate Market, Leeds City Centre 9am - 4pm.
